Covering your assets with Affinity Insurance

As the saying goes, ‘Its better to be safe than sorry’ – that’s especially the case when it comes to insurance coverage. But how do you know if you have enough? And are you paying too much?

The team at Affinity Insurance can help you double-check your coverage and offer expert advice on what package policies suit your needs best.

“We can do all lines of insurance and if you come to see one of our long-time brokers about home insurance, there is no reason that same broker can’t do your auto insurance, business, cabin, or recreational vehicle as well. We have experienced staff, products and services for all of that and more,” said Kale Harnett, Branch Manager of Affinity Insurance in Prince Albert.

Affinity Insurance is a subsidiary of Affinity Credit Union, that puts profits back into our local community. There are nine locations across Saskatchewan. The Prince Albert office is the largest and home to a solid team of professionals with well over 150 years of experience between them.

“We have some long-term staff that can do it all and also some who are experts in a specific line of product here. Some of the latest Google reviews we have coming from our clients talk about our staff being friendly and ready to help, courteous, well informed and efficient. That’s really important to us and let’s face it, not always a common experience a lot of places now a days.”

Harnett and his team pride themselves on how they advocate for clients in claims situations and how frequently they conduct reviews for all clients to ensure they are getting the best rates, coverages and discounts possible.

“That’s one thing that sets us apart. Whether you know it or not we do in depth review your policy each year, not just when they first buy a home or come from another brokerage, but we do a good job of internally reviewing our client’s insurance year-round,” said Harnett. “With all the changes that are prevalent in our industry right now, it’s important to make sure we’re reviewing with clients constantly because new coverages are offered, and we know people’s lives change all the time and that home policy that was written two or three years ago may look a lot different if you’ve renovated your home for example or if your personal situation as changed.”

Affinity Insurance represents many different companies and in doing so can provide several different quotes and options. Harnett said they don’t like to sell just on price alone.

“Obviously everybody wants the best coverage at the lowest price, but if you go blindly just by price with insurance, that sometimes doesn’t end up being your best bet.”

Instead, he said they’ll look at the individual needs of the client and also talk about which companies they work together well with in the event of a claim.

“In my eyes, that’s a big component when looking to place coverage. It doesn’t come down so much to price, but what company and product out there is the best for their individual needs and does a great job of helping out and providing good service in the event of a loss.”

Life can be unpredictable, but when change does happen the team at Affinity Insurance will do their best to allow you to ‘Rest Insured.’
