Wiesblatt done for season due to injury, will head to San Jose for further evaluation
The Prince Albert Raiders announced on Saturday that Ozzy Wiesblatt has been shut down due to an upper-body injury.
Wiesblatt will travel to San Jose to get a medical evaluation. The San Jose Sharks drafted Wiesblatt in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, and later signed Wiesblatt.
The Raiders’ release said the medical staffs of both the Raiders and the Sharks were involved in the decision to cut Wiesblatt’s season short.
Wiesblatt missed the previous eight games to injury before the decision to head down to San Jose, and has missed 17 games since the holiday break. Wiesblatt had 10 goals and 41 points in 43 games this year.
