Winter Festival not going away without a bang

The Prince Albert Winter Festival is wrapping up this weekend, but not before even more excitement and fun for the whole family.

The King Trapper competition started on Saturday just before noon. Here is Gerald McKenzie competing in the Animal Calls event, just outside the Alfred Jenkins Field House.

Inside the field house, there were many handmade works of art, food, clothing and other wares available for sale.

The Arm Wrestling Competition was heated and fierce in the upstairs area at the Alfred Jenkins Field House. Brave competitors stepped up to the table as their supporters huddled around shouting encouragement and taking photos and videos.

And in the southern part of town, the sled dog races got underway. A champion will be crowned after the finals at Sunday at 2 p.m.

And although some good food was on offer at the Field House, the legendary Winter Festival Fish Fry was crisping up some heavenly fish and chips at the Prince Albert Exhibition. Like it was last year, the fish fry was set up as an efficient drive-thru, making everything as convenient and contact-less as possible.
