Feb 15, 2022 | 9:35 AM

Just over two months after being reported missing, Byron Bear has been returned back to his family.

Prince Albert Police have confirmed that on Feb. 10, the remains of the 27-year-old were located in a rural area near Hague.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday.

Byron Bear was originally reported missing by his family on Dec. 7, 2021 and thought to be involved in a serious assault that occurred the previous morning in the 300 Block of Ninth St. East.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. Raine Farrow, 23, and Kyle Burns, 37, are charged with second degree murder and have pending court dates in the coming weeks.

The Prince Albert Police Service Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
