Police looking for a missing man as investigation continues for Ninth Street incident

The Prince Albert Police Service are asking for the public’s help in finding 27-year-old Byron Lee Bear after a serious assault took place on Ninth Street East early Monday morning.

On Dec. 6 the police responded to the 300 block of Ninth Street East where they found evidence of a serious assault but no victims were found. They responded after a report of gunshots just after 4 a.m.

Police continue to investigate the incident with the Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section and they will remain on scene on Wednesday. No arrests have been made thus far and police say there is no risk to the public.

Police believe Bear was at the home before police arrived and has since been reported missing. He was last seen by his family at 3 a.m. Monday wearing all black clothing.

He is described as 5-10 tall and 180 lb with black hair and brown eyes.

Police are also asking anyone who lives in the area to review their security camera footage and contact police if they’ve found anything suspicious in the hours between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Monday morning. Anyone with information can call police at 306-953-4222.
