One dead following Highway 2 crash

Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed that a crash Wednesday afternoon north of Prince Albert, claimed the life of an 83-year-old woman.

Just before noon, Buckland Fire and Rescue and RCMP were called to a three-vehicle crash, south of Spruce Home involving a semi, a car, and a truck.

The woman, who was the driver and sole passenger of the car, was declared deceased at the scene.

The drivers of the semi and truck did not report injuries, and neither had passengers. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Crews were on scene for roughly 7.5 hours before the section of highway was reopened.

Meanwhile Parkland Ambulance is confirming two people were taken to hospital, following a separate two-vehicle crash north of Prince Albert Wednesday night.

At 8:54 p.m., emergency crews responded to an area on Highway 2 near Gardner Road.

A 19-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were cared for by paramedics and taken to hospital in good and stable condition.
