Raiders fall to Blades, losing streak falls to 3 following the holidays
The Prince Albert Raiders (12-17-1-1) lost their third straight game after the holiday break on Thursday, falling 6-4 to the Saskatoon Blades (17-13-1-1) at the SaskTel Centre. The season series is tied at 3-3 now between the two rivaling clubs.
The Raiders looked in control of the game, with Ozzy Wiesblatt getting a shorthanded strip and snipe in the first period before Landon Kosior extended the lead to 2-0 in the second period. Kosior loves scoring against the Blades, as he already has three against them this year.
Brandon Lisowsky would strike twice, on his way to a hat trick on the night. A key moment in the game was taken away from the Raiders due to a coach’s challenge. Sloan Stanick thought he had tied the game at 3-3 with 44 seconds left in the second period, but it was called back for an offside as Hayden Pakkala was only inches away from keeping the puck in at the line.
The Blades piled on the pressure in the third period, as Aidan De La Gorgendiere, Lisowsky (completes his hat trick) Jayden Wiens and Tristen Robins all scored for the Blades to make it a 6-2 game.
