Prince Albert Police Service K9 Unit celebrating 45 years with calendar

Nov 27, 2021 | 8:00 AM

Residents of Prince Albert can now purchase a 2022 Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) canine calendar for a good cause this Christmas season.

The calendar celebrates 45 years of the canine section and features former dogs who served with the police service and current K9 members Febee, Kal and Ares.

In a press release, Sgt. Kelsey Bighetty, who oversees the canine section, said, “This calendar would make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas.”

He added the calendar was a team effort.

“If you love dogs and supporting a great cause, then the 2022 canine calendar is ready for you.”

The proceeds from calendar sales will support KidSport and the Saskatchewan SPCA Stryker K9 Fund. The Stryker K9 Fund helps owners pay for emergency and regular care for retired police dogs.

Those who would like to purchase a calendar can do so for $15 by e-transfering to: k9calendar@papolice.ca using the password ‘2022calendar’. They ask the public to specify how many calendars they would like to buy as well as provide a call back number and an address.

The public can also purchase copies by visiting the police station on 15th St. W. or the substation on 10th St. E.
