RCMP bag drugs and weapons during Halloween investigation

A 49-year-old man from Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is facing a number of charges, in connection to a drugs and weapons seizure Halloween morning.

At approximately 9:45 a.m, Shellbrook/Ahtahkakoop RCMP received a report of suspicious vehicles parked at the south end of Mistawasis First Nation.

When officers arrived, they found two trucks, a black one and a burgundy one, that appeared to have been abandoned.

As a result of further investigation, a number of items were located and seized from the trucks including 242 grams of white powder (suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine), two small bags of cannabis, seven large knives and other edged weapon, bear spray, an assortment of ammunition, and a number of pills including narcotics.
