Sep 27, 2021 | 5:00 PM

Prince Albert RCMP has identified a body found in the North Saskatchewan River last week.

The remains were found on Sept. 21 downstream from the Cecil Ferry, just before 6:30 p.m.

The Prince Albert Fire Department responded and assisted RCMP in finding and removing the body from the River.

RCMP say the remains are that of a 39-year-old man from Leask, Sask.

The name of the man is not being released at the request of his family, who have been notified.

Initial reports show the death was not suspicious in nature. The Prince Albert Police Service and Saskatchewan Coroners Service continue to investigate.
