Saskatchewan reports second highest new COVID-19 cases

There are 499 new COVID-19 cases in the province as per Saturday’s update from the Government of Saskatchewan. That’s the second-highest one-day total of cases since the pandemic began. Only Tuesday’s report of 509 new cases tops it.

Out of the new cases, 76 are in the North Central zone, 59 in North West, 25 in North East, 31 in Far North East, 21 in Far North West and one in Far North Central.

There was one new death, making the total 638. There were five new hospitalizations, making the current total 228. There are now 4,329 active cases in the province.

The vaccination status of new COVID-19 cases was not updated by the government.

NITHA numbers

There are 33 new cases to report today in NITHA communities. 25 (76%) were unvaccinated, 2 (6%) are partially vaccinated and 6 (18%) were fully vaccinated.

There are 413 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 13; Far North West, 54; Far North East, 230; North Central, 72; and North East, 44. 5152 cases (92%) have recovered, and 12 people are hospitalized.
