Sep 18, 2021 | 9:27 PM

After the Prince Albert Mintos began their preseason with an explosive 7-4 victory over the Tisdale Trojans on Thursday, they couldn’t follow it up with another big victory.

They met their match on Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre, falling 9-3 to the Warman Wildcats.

The Wildcats came out to a 4-0 lead after the first period.

Carter Hanson, Ryland Martin and Eric Ward all scored for the Mintos in the contest. Matthew Cudmore, Karson Blanchette, Cohen Noreikat and Theran Lysitza all had an assist in the game.

Rhett Dekowny had a hat trick and an assist, Jeter Korte had two goals and four points, while Brody Mortensen had a goal and three helpers. Jordan Normand had a pair of goals, while Mason Buekert also scored.

The Mintos have one more preseason game, a rematch against the Wildcats on Sunday at the Legends Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The Mintos will then begin the regular season on Sept. 25 against the Swift Current Legionnaires at the Art Hauser Centre.
