Sobeys’ owned stores across Canada will be taking donations for what will be their second campaign to support the Family of Support: Child & Youth Mental Health Initiative.

Sobey Foundation and Sobeys Inc., Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF) is partnering for the campaign which will see donations to child and youth mental health early intervention initiatives at 13 children’s hospitals across Canada, including Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation in Saskatoon.

From Sept. 16 to 30, Canadians can donate to the initiative’s annual fundraising campaign at Empire and Sobeys Inc. retail locations; including Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo and IGA locations across the province. One hundred per cent of the funds raised will support local children’s hospitals and their respective child and youth mental health programs.

“Now more than ever, we need to prioritize child and youth mental health and help kids while they’re still kids, giving them the best possible chance to thrive,” said Mark Hierlihy, President and CEO of Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations. “Support for child and youth mental health demonstrates timely leadership and we are proud to embark on this year’s fundraising campaign in partnership with the Sobey Foundation and Sobeys Inc. as we continue to address the urgent local needs for earlier interventions and better access to mental health care.”
