Love Huskie football and hockey games? There’s an app for that.

Want to know everything about the Huskies? There’s an app for that too.

Pattison Media has partnered with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies to provide fans new levels of access to their favourite teams – no matter the sport.

HuskieFAN.ca will provide traditional news and information coverage on everything Huskies, including game scores and recaps, podcasts featuring coaches and athletes and behind the scenes stories that will allow superfans to really experience the Huskie Athletics culture.

The HuskieFAN app will highlight three sports in particular: men’s and women’s hockey and football. All conference games during the 2021-22 season will be digitally broadcast so fans across the nation never miss a goal or touchdown. Football games will also be heard on The Beach Radio 750 – a strong AM signal that will deliver every play across Saskatchewan. The women’s and men’s hockey games will be broadcast across the province’s Pattison Media markets as the “Game of The Week.” All games will also be stored in a podcast library on HuskieFAN, ensuring access to every event on demand.

“Pattison Media is pleased to team up with Huskie Athletics to create a province wide, digital platform for fans to follow their Huskies,” said Pattison Media General Manager, Karl Johnston. “We’re proud the play-by-play rights for football are back on AM750 this season and we’re happy to add the home and away play-by-play for men’s and women’s hockey too. This agreement is also historic. Pattison Media is the first private broadcaster in Canada to commit to broadcasting a full season of women’s hockey.”

A team of veteran journalists, including Wray Morrison, formerly of TSN, will contribute extensive pre-game and post-game coverage of each game that is broadcast. Visitors to the site and app can also expect weekly coaches shows with Scott Flory, Steve Kook and Mike Babcock giving fans unprecedented levels of access from inside the locker room. HuskieFAN will also have features on athletes and teams from basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and field and wrestling.

“We are really excited about this new partnership and the creation of the HuskieFAN app”, said Huskies Chief Athletics Officer, Shannon Chinn. “The expanded coverage will ensure that our fans have even more ways to connect with our coaches and student-athletes – giving them a true behind the scenes look at our teams. In partnership with Pattison Media, we are committed to telling the incredible stories of our Huskies both on, and off the field. To be able to follow our women’s hockey team at home, and on the road, is a huge step forward. We are elated about this historic announcement as we continue to work towards being Number 1 in collegiate athletics in Canada.”

The HuskieFAN app is available for download through HuskieFAN.ca.
