On Sept. 10, 2020, the Prince Albert Police Service received a missing person report for 24-year-old Tristan Chaboyer. They’ve now identified his body.

According to a release, police found remains in a wooded area northeast of the city, which they have identified as Chaboyer via DNA testing. Police determined his death was a homicide in June of this year.

Chaboyer had last been seen on Sept. 4, 2020 before the missing person report was filed. They determined the disappearance to be suspicious a week later.

Court records show Chaboyer was supposed to have an appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 9 for which he did not appear. At the time of his disappearance, Chaboyer was living in Prince Albert and worked at Star House Restaurant.

Debbie Chaboyer, his mother, told paNOW his clothes had been found in a wooded area behind Victoria Hospital and there was blood on them. A DNA test confirmed the blood was Chaboyer’s.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Division with the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate. They encourage anyone with information about this investigation to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
