The Prince Albert Police Service is providing more information about the arrest of a man Monday who had been the subject of a nearly week long manhunt.

Glen Frederick Halkett, 25, was found following two complaints related to someone breaking into and damaging vehicles.

The first complaint, received around 8:30 a.m., involved a male attempting to break into a vehicle parked in the 100 block of 26th St. W. The second report of damage to a vehicle occurred in the 2700 Block of second Ave. W. and Halkett was located nearby.

He tried to run when confronted by officers but was unsuccessful, and has been scheduled to appear Wednesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Halkett was initially wanted by RCMP in connection to an armed robbery at Little Red River First Nation, as well as a vehicle theft in the Rural Municipality of Buckland in which a firearm was used.

Prince Albert Police confirmed in addition to the charges related to the incident at Little Red River First Nation, Halkett is also facing additional charges of wilful damage and theft under $5,000.
