A young girl from Saskatoon can now put “toy designer” on her resume.

Ten-year-old Audrey Rogalksi entered IKEA’s Soft Toy Drawing Competition. Her design of “Sandwich Friends” was among five winners picked from 66,000 submissions around the world.

“My creation is two little slices of bread. One has peanut butter on it and the other has jelly and they both have eyes, mouths, arms and legs and they are supposed to represent friends,” she said.

She said peanut butter and jelly taste great together, so she thought they’d make great friends.

“It just popped into my mind and I thought, ‘That’s going to make a great stuffie!’ ” Rogalski said. “So I drew it and I went for it.”

Andrey was super-excited and surprised when she got the news that her drawing had won.

The “Sandwich Friends” stuffies should be available for purchase this fall.
