Kin Enterprises receives Power 99 FM Airtime Award

Feb 28, 2021 | 8:00 AM

Kin Enterprises, the Prince Albert non-profit that supports people with intellectual disabilities, has secured this year’s Power 99 FM Community Airtime Award.

Each year the local Jim Pattison Broadcast Group radio station offers the $60,000 marketing and advertising package to a deserving organization.

Director of programs and services with Kin Enterprises, Hillary Brahniuk, said she was delighted and grateful for the opportunity to spread the word about their organization.

“We support close to 180 individuals…and we have our wonderful team of staff of close to 60 people,” she told paNOW. “We’re so excited to get our name out in the community and showcase the things we have to offer Prince Albert and area.”

Brahniuk said the more the public gets to learn about Kin Enterprises, and even access some of the services they offer, then the more their clients feel welcomed and a part of the community.

She added the airtime award came at a good time because in the coming month or so she hopes to get things running again following the lengthy COVID-enforced closure.

“We’re looking at re-opening all our programs and getting all of our individuals back in the organization. We’ve totally embraced the virtual world [during the closure] but having that face-to-face contact is the most important,” she explained.

Listeners of Power 99 FM are set to learn plenty about the importance of Kin Enterprises in the months ahead.
