Annual P.A. Pancake Breakfast to be dished up for TeleMiracle

Feb 23, 2021 | 4:01 PM

Those who look forward to the Prince Albert Kinsmen Club’s annual TeleMiracle Pancake Breakfast Donation Drive every year can breathe a sigh of relief – and get their syrup pouring hand ready – because it’s still happening despite the pandemic.

The 45th annual event will be taking place at Smitty’s Family Restaurant on Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

All the proceeds from the breakfast -which will be drive-thru and takeaway only- will be donated to TeleMiracle.

Kinsmen member Marcus Abrametz said the breakfast is just part of the day, because it is also a donation drive for TeleMiracle.

“[For] all donations to TeleMiracle we’re inviting folks to bring their cheques and bring their donations down to Smitty’s on Friday morning,” he said.

The breakfast includes three pancakes and two sausages for $7. The public can also place an advanced order by calling 306-980-9820 ahead of time and they will bring it out to your vehicle. Donations can also be made by calling the same phone number.

“We’re hoping to replicate the success of past years in terms of visitors and donations, but we understand that COVID has unfortunately slowed down a lot of events and public turnouts, but we remain hopeful,” Abrametz said.

The Kinsmen Club has cancelled many events this year because of the pandemic so this will be their primary drive for TeleMiracle.

“TeleMiracle now more than ever during these difficult past few months needs the public’s help,” he explained. “Prince Albert residents historically have benefited greatly from generous TeleMiracle donations and many benefactors are Prince Albert residents.”

The TeleMiracle 45 broadcast will be live from Saskatoon on Feb. 27. The main event starts at 9 p.m. and goes straight through till 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Prince Albert Kinsmen and Kinettes will be there.
