TeleMiracle 45 announces full list of performers

Dec 2, 2020 | 1:02 PM

TeleMiracle, ‘Saskatchewan’s Charity’ released a list of 75 Saskatchewan performers who will perform at the 45th annual event, Tuesday morning.

Saskatchewan talent will be featured throughout all segments of TeleMiracle 45, including the Countdown to TeleMiracle pre-show, the main show and the overnight segment.

The telethon will be broadcast live on CTV throughout Saskatchewan and live streamed on www.telemiracle.com from 9 p.m, Saturday, February 27, 2021 to 5 p.m, Sunday, February 28.

Every year, Saskatchewan entertainers not only perform, but they also fundraise for TeleMiracle. Once again, these fundraising efforts will receive a boost from Nutrien, which has agreed to match all donations raised by Saskatchewan Talent up to $100,000.

Aside from talent and a passion for TeleMiracle, performers were also chosen to represent a wide variety of communities across Saskatchewan.

“The performers chosen represent the depth and breadth of talent that this province has to offer,” TeleMiracle 45 Chair Brian Angstadt said in a media release.

Richard Kies, the event’s executive director added this year could be unlike any other due to wide array of performances.

“We will have a wide variety of entertainers. I think it will be really interesting for people to tune in this year and see some different performances,” Kies said. “One of the changes we made this year was allowing people to do auditions by video submission. I think this allowed us to reach more people from different parts of the province.”

One performer who got the call for the show is Prince Albert resident, 69-year-old country singer, Maurice Villeneuve.

“I feel excited. I am glad to have been picked because there is a lot of good talent out there,” Villeneuve said. “The nerves were over a long time ago. I don’t get nervous for stuff like this.”

Villeneuve plans on performing the song Go Rest High on That Mountain by Vince Gill.

Musical duo Darcy Sander and Mike Langlois from Prince Albert will also perform at the event.

“This is our first time playing TeleMiracle,” Langlois told paNOW. “I feel grateful to be able to play for this event.”

Langlois described the musical duo as “easy listening” and added the fundraiser supported him and his wife when he was hospitalized in Edmonton for three months. He is happy to support the event, even in a small way, he said.
