John Mansbridge knew he was a winner on his Jan. 15 Lotto Max Extra ticket, but he didn’t expect his $100,000 win.

Only when he got home and put on his glasses, he said, he finally realized he had won bigger than the $1,000 prize he was anticipating.

“I used a ticket checker and knew I won more than $1,000,” he said in a media release. “But I didn’t know if I won $10,000 or $100,000.”

Mansbridge has no big plans for his winnings yet but will add to his retirement fund, he said.

“It’s nice to have more financial breathing room in my retirement,” he said.

Mansbridge purchased his winning ticket at Lake Country Co-op Cornerstone C-Store, located at 15th St. E in Prince Albert.
