Long-time resident joins Ward 2 race

A local chiropractor and long-time Prince Albert resident is running for election in Ward 2.

Devin Gorder explained he was motivated to enter the race by his commitment to the city and a desire to be involved in shaping its future.

“I grew up here and I know that P.A. is a great place to live, raise a family and work,” Gorder told paNOW. “I want to help strengthen the community and give back.”

Gorder said Prince Albert is at a “pivotal time” in terms of growth.

“There’s lots of thriving business and arts in Ward 2,” he said. “Then they’re going to hopefully put in the new aquatic and activity centre in the city, so I just want to be part of the planning.”

Gorder said aside from community planning, public safety will be one of his top issues.

Asked about what measures he’d like to see implemented to increase public safety, Gorder said he didn’t have anything specific in mind, but would work with police, fire and fellow councillors on the issue.

Gorder also explained he’s committed to advocating for Ward 2 residents, something constituents he’s met have told him is important.

“They just really want somebody out there that has a voice for them,” he said.

Gorder is running against incumbent Terra Lennox-Zepp in Ward 2.

The municipal election is Nov. 9. The nomination deadline closes in just one week on Oct. 7.
