Culling named Raiders’ Hardest Working Player
He may have only played half of a season with the Prince Albert Raiders and appeared in just 25 games, but Matthew Culling didn’t stop skating in that time.
Culling was presented with the Lionel Diehl Memorial Award as Hardest Working Player for the Raiders this past season. Culling came over from the Swift Current Broncos on Dec. 27 and scored four goals and seven points in those 25 games to finish off the season.
“I’m very honoured and grateful to receive this award this season. I’d like to thank General Manager Curtis Hunt for bringing me to this first-class organization in the Prince Albert Raiders,” Culling said in his acceptance speech on Raider Vision. “Next, I’d like to thank my teammates for pushing me to be my best every day. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be able to get this award. I was looking to a long playoff run with you boys.”
Culling also thanked Marc Habscheid and the rest of the coaching staff for instilling a hard work ethic in him and the rest of the team, and athletic therapist Duane ‘Puff’ Bartley for making sure they were ready to play.
