A local Prince Albert man is $1 million richer today.

According to a media release from the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Ron Lypchuk won the grand prize in the Touchdown for Kids Millionaire Lottery.

“Congratulations to Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire, the hundreds who won prizes and thank you to everybody who purchased a ticket,” Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation said. “We are proud to have partnered with the Saskatchewan Roughriders Foundation; together we have laid a strong foundation to support the children and families of Saskatchewan.”

The Touchdown for Kids Millionaire Lottery had numerous prizes — 2,100 to be exact. The ultimate prize was the $1 million but other prizes were an early bird prize of $500,000, 13 new vehicles, 41 Roughrider experiences, six vacation packages, 1,100 gift card prizes and 213 prizes of various electronics.

The money raised will go toward education, and amateur sports. It will also go toward maternal and children’s care in Saskatchewan, including at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.

Gary Mack from Melville was the winner of the 50/50 draw bringing home $311,342.50 of the $622,685 jackpot.

To make this all possible is a partnership between the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.
