The Prince Albert Raiders shattered team records last season, making our Top Sports Stories for 2019.

In total, the Raiders broke 18 franchise records on their way to winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup, with Raiders goaltender Ian Scott breaking five of them himself.

Scott is the only Raiders goaltender in history to score a goal, had eight shutouts in a single season, went 185:44 consecutive minutes without surrendering a goal, posted a .932 save percentage and 1.83 goals against average.

Scott also won the Goaltender of the Year awards for both the CHL and WHL. He was one of three Raiders to win awards, as Marc Habscheid won the WHL Coach of the Year and Curtis Hunt won WHL Executive of the Year.

In the same season, Sean Montgomery became the longest serving Raider in history by playing 345 career games. He broke Brett Novak’s old record of 330 games played, which stood for 13 years.

Justin Nachbaur, Ozzy Wiesblatt and Parker Kelly all teamed up to score a goal each in a 16-second span last year in a win over the Saskatoon Blades on Sept. 30.

Here’s a summary of all the records the Raiders broke this year.
