The search efforts for missing 31-year-old Donald Light were focused on the riverbank in Prince Albert Wednesday afternoon.

P.A. police spokeswoman Charlene Tebbutt said P.A. Northern Search and Rescue along with teams from Buckland Search and Rescue; Prince Albert Grand Council Search, Rescue and Recovery; and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency were involved in the hunt for Light who has been missing since last week Tuesday.

“They’re conducting ground searches and using drone technology to search the area,” she told paNOW. “Some of the information obtained through the investigation says that Mr. Light was last in the area around the river, so search and rescue teams will be there for the remainder of the afternoon.”

Search teams gathered at the kayak and rowing boat club along River Street west of the bridge and a mobile command centre was being set up.

Earlier Wednesday P.A. police issued a media release stating foul play was not suspected at this time nor did they believe the disappearance of Light was related to any other active missing person’s investigation.

P.A. Police said their investigative officers continued to work with the family and continue to review surveillance video footage and phone records in an effort to locate Light.

He was last seen leaving a residence on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8:15 p.m.
