Police make several arrests for separate files including robbery and stabbing

Police are investigating three separate files including a stabbing, a weapons complaint and a robbery.

The alleged assault occurred at 1:30 a.m. this morning. Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of 14 St. W. for an alleged stabbing. One man was taken to hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

In a separate case, members attended the 500 block of 28 St. W. late Monday night for a complaint of a man with a gun threatening people in a home. When officers arrived just before 11 p.m., they arrested a 38-year-old man after a brief standoff.

The man was charged with assault, uttering threats, and possession of a controlled substance.

In an unrelated incident, police arrested one man in the parking lot of a grocery store Monday morning after he attempted to steal a woman’s car. The incident happened at the 500 block of 15 St. E. A passerby held the male suspect until police arrived. A 32-year-old man is facing robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon.
