Honouring P.A.’s business leaders

Mar 21, 2019 | 4:24 PM

Business leaders and those who work towards the betterment of Prince Albert were honoured at a special event Thursday.

The annual Legacy Brunch hosted by the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce happened Thursday. Roses Stewart, who owns Victoria Square Compounding Pharmacy, was recognized with the Legacy Award for her work in the community.

Stewart purchased a small dispensary in the mid-1990s, located beside her present-day pharmacy and medical building. The current Victoria Square Compounding Pharmacy was completed in 2011 and includes a pharmacy, pediatricians, an otolaryngologist, a hearing specialist, chiropractor, sociologists a psychologist, and a coffee shop.

“This is a culmination of my life’s work,” said Stewart Thursday while holding back tears. “Because I love this community, and I love the people of this community. I’ve been so honoured just to serve them … the volunteers of this community allowed me to be the best pharmacist I could ever be. I’ve been supported by the community, and in return I’ve been so blessed to be able to support the community.”

Finalists were also announced Thursday for the Annual Samuel McLeod Business Awards. The annual event recognizes local businesses and entrepreneurs in a variety of categories including business of the year, community involvement and customer service.

Award recipients will be announced at the annual business awards gala April 18.
