March BrainLove Campaign and Kick Off Event

Feb 20, 2019 | 11:02 AM

“Our expectations will be high this year, as we celebrate our fifth annual BrainLove campaign and the 25th anniversary of the Saskatchewan Royal Purple Association,”said Charity Chairperson Sandi Lougheed.

“We have met so many of our past goals and are looking towards an exciting future.”The fundraising goal for this year is $25,000 which will push our donations over the $100,000 mark –a huge accomplishment for our members and our partners –the Saskatchewan Bootlegger stores. It will give us another reason to celebrate next year.Since 2014 the Saskatchewan Royal Purple has taken on the position of one of three permanent sponsors and partners of the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association (SBIA). “As a result of our many projects and consistent support, SBIA has been able to maintain an increasing support system and educational program in our province,” said Lougheed, “and we are proud to be a part of it all.”

As the Partnership continuesto grow, our new lodges in Prince Albert, Kindersley and Maple Creek have come on board with major fundraising events –steak nights, a BrainLove Dance, BrainLove walks –all dedicated to fundraising and raising awareness in the campaign of preventing brain injuries.

This year the Association added a Quilt Retreat in North Battleford to its events in March and a BrainLove golf tournament in June.

There is a BrainLove event going on every month somewhere in Saskatchewan.“Our partnership with the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association has made a huge difference in awareness in rural Saskatchewan,” said Saskatchewan Royal Purple President Debra Arnold of Maple Creek.

“For the last five years our schools have had the exclusive “Any One, Any Time, AnyWhere” posters and we’ve supported the “Save Your Melon” program as well. It’s important to start our young people off wearing helmets and being aware.

”Anyone wanting to donate can do so at any of our Royal Purple lodges or the ten Saskatchewan Bootlegger stores.“We will be back in Prince Albert to celebrate our Association’s 25th Anniversary in April,” said Lougheed.

“This lodge, the media and the community have added tremendous leadership to this entire program and we do say, “Thank you”.”
