UPDATE: Three people appear in court on weapons charges

UPDATE: Three people have appeared in court on charges relating to the incidents from Monday.

Drexlyr Whitehead, 21, made his first court appearance Tuesday and was remanded into custody until Feb. 19.

Larson Ballantyne, 23, and Jessie Forgue, 23, were scheduled to be back in court again Wednesday morning.

A young man caught carrying numerous weapons, including a machete and bear mace, is scheduled to appear Tuesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

The 21-year-old, who had five outstanding warrants, was originally spotted Monday afternoon by police in the unit block of 12th St. E. Police caught him about a block away after a short foot chase.

In a separate incident Monday night, police arrested two men who created a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of Second Ave. W. When staff members confronted the men, one allegedly responded by threatening them with a large knife.

The suspects fled on foot but were arrested a short time later at a residence in the 500 block of 18th St. W.

There were no police officers injured in either incident. The names of the accused cannot be released until they make their first court appearances.
