Prince Albert Police are reporting a steady weekend, responding to nearly 200 calls between Friday and Monday.

The police service made 31 arrests over the weekend with the majority for evictions and people who were intoxicated in a public place.

Police are also looking for help in identifying suspects who stole cigarettes from a delivery truck while it was parked behind a local business in the 200 block of 32nd St. W. last Friday morning. The driver was inside the store at the time but surveillance video caught two suspects throwing the cigarettes into a nearby garbage bin around 10:30 a.m. The two returned shortly after 11 a.m. in a white SUV to retrieve the cartons.

Police said in a release officers are unable to determine the make of the SUV, or whether the suspects are male or female. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact police.

Police also arrested two youths on Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. The 16 and 17-year-old youths were stopped while walking in the 400 block of 15th St. E. One of the young people was found to have outstanding warrants, and was found with a loaded, sawed-off 22-calibre firearm concealed in his waistband. Police say the firearm was seized without incident.

The second youth admitted to carrying a set of brass knuckles. Both youths are facing charges involving firearms and weapons.
