La Ronge mayor not seeking re-election

After dedicating much of his adult life to municipal politics, La Ronge Mayor Thomas Sierzycki has decided not to run for re-election.
Sierzycki said he wishes to spend more time with wife, Jodie, and young son, Jozef.
“As my parents did for me, I now need to ensure Jozef’s quality of life is better than my own. Being a dad is the most important job I will ever have,” he said.
He said he has witnessed first-hand how stressful an election campaign could be on a young family. While he hasn’t ruled out a return, he said he taking a time-out to regroup.
