Brin said that the pup has been bonding with the staff at the college and has begun to go for walks on the ground, which “means he is healing well that he is able to do that.”
Henry has also begun to hand feed.

Soon after Henry’s story went public the SPCA set up a fundraising pagewith a $10,000 goal to cover the medical costs of his recovery. As of Monday afternoon it’s almost reached $16,000. Brin said the extra funds will be used to help other “as equally deserving animals in need.”

While the dog recovers, police continue to investigate his case. Since it is an open investigation, Brin could not provide many details but said they have received information.

“(Animal cruelty) is a very hard thing to charge people with. You need a lot of information and a lot of proof to charge somebody,” she said. “That’s why we are thankful in Henry’s case that there seems to be a lot of information slowly coming out that will hopefully help us in that way and we will see some justice served.”

Brin said Henry’s recovery is still “day-by-day” so there is no realistic idea of when he will be up for adoption.
