Parkland Ambulance reporting busy weekend

Parkland Ambulance Paramedics responded to 72 incidents over the weekend.

Two early morning assaults Saturday resulted in minor injuries of a 27-year-old female and an 18-year-old male.

Paramedics responded to another assault just after midnight Sunday morning. A 19-year-old man was treated for minor injuries.

There were two motor vehicle collisions on Saturday.

At 12:30 p.m. paramedics responded to a collision on highway 55 near the Little Red River Park turnoff. A 47-year-old man and 10-year-old boy with minor injuries were cared for at the scene.

Around 7:45 p.m. paramedics responded to a collision in the 3600 block of 2nd Ave. W. Paramedics cared for a 57-year-old female with minor injuries.

Parkland Ambulance also reports there were 3 separate longboard/skateboard incidents in which a person had to be taken to hospital with isolated fractures. In all cases helmets and other protective equipment was not worn.
