Recovery Day Celebrations
The public is invited to participate in Canada’s 4th annual Recovery Day celebration.
This is the second year that the City of Prince Albert will be participating in this celebration. In order to celebrate and promote “Recovery” in this community, our local planning committee from the Addictions Professionals Association of Saskatchewan (APASK) is pleased to announce that a noon hour luncheon will be held on September 24,2015, at Plaza 88 (previously the Co-op grocery store – McIntosh Mall).
During this luncheon, Clint Malarchuk, (former NHL goalie and coach) will share his story of alcohol /drug addiction as well as his courageous battle to achieve recovery from these addictions and mental health issues.
The purpose of “Recovery Day” is to celebrate and promote recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Recovery saves lives; not only those of the addict, but also dramatically improves the lives of family, friends and the employer. The purpose of this event is to reduce the stigma and shame surrounding all substance abuse disorders.
This event will demonstrate that Recovery is not only possible, but highly rewarding and essential for healthy, happy lives.
Employers can play a significant role in assisting their troubled employees to gain access to appropriate intervention and treatment, which is readily available in most Saskatchewan communities.
We invite local businesses to support this event through the purchase of tickets either individually at $40.00 per ticket or a complete table of 8 tickets for $ 300.00.
To purchase tickets, please contact Rhonda Senecal at prairiegirl1966@gmail.com (306-921-7012) or John Kreiser at john.kreiser@sasktel.net (306) 764-2054. Your support of this event would be most gratefully appreciated.
