Answers slow following young woman’s death

Aug 20, 2015 | 11:41 AM

Two months have passed since Danielle Nyland’s body was found in a wooded area east of Shellbrook, and still no answers have surfaced as to how she died.

Sgt. Craig Cleary with the RCMP told paNOW on Thursday, the RCMP is actively investigating the case.

“All deaths are treated as suspicious in nature until proven otherwise,” said Cleary.

That being said, RCMP have not officially deemed the death to be a homicide.

Cleary said investigations of this type need to be thorough and RCMP have been attempting to talk to anyone who may have had contact with Nyland the night she went missing.

Danielle Nyland was reported missing June 10 of this year.  She had been seen Sunday June 8, at Movados Bar, and friends say she went to a party near Shellbrook later that night.

Nyland’s sister Jana has created a Facebook page titled, Rest in Peace Danielle Nyland.  The group has nearly 2,900 followers.
