Medicine Hat sweeps Saskatoon in WHL playoffs
The Saskatoon Blades were swept by the Medicine Hat Tigers for the second year in a row last night, dropping Game 4 of the eastern conference quarter-finals 3-1.
It was a do-or-die game for the second-seed Blades who coming into Game 4 were outscored 12-4. Consistent with the previous three games of the series Medicine Hat scored first.
Tigers’ captain Curtis Valk roofed one past Andrey Makarov after a nifty give-and-go with Hunter Shinkaruk early in the first period.
The seventh-seeded Tigers opened up the game in the second period scoring twice and leading 3-0 heading into the third period.
