A spill of hazardous material that is used in the operating room had the fire department responding to Victoria Hospital at 6:30 p.m.
The spill was contained by the time the fire department arrived — firefighters assisted with clean up.
Calling the fire department to assist with spills is part of hospital protocol, said a health region official.
