Teaching Health Education Workshop

SO, YOU’RE TEACHING HEALTH EDUCATION…
We have a professional learning opportunity for you!

Saskatchewan Health Education Association (SHEA) Representatives from SHEA, including liaisons from the University of Regina and Ministries of Health and Education, will be facilitating up to three professional
learning opportunities throughout the province during the 2010-2011 school year.

The purpose of each learning opportunity is to support teachers implementing health education in grades 1-9 in concrete ways by sharing resources, and to build capacity by facilitating professional dialogue and collaboration.

Who: Teachers of grades 1-9. Participants are encouraged to contact and invite the health professional(s) in their school communities and consider attending together.

What: A professional learning opportunity to support implementation of the provincial health education curricula facilitated by members of SHEA. General information and ready-to-use resources related to health education will be shared in each workshop, followed by opportunities to focus on the individual needs of participants.

Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Prince Albert (PAPHR Office)
Registration deadline March 25, 2011

When: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in each location

Cost: $40 per participant, which includes a SHEA membership, workshop materials
and a nutrition break.
