A CT-114 Tutor jet from the Snowbirds demonstration squadron made a belly landing at 15 Wing Moose Jaw late Tuesday afternoon.
“It's basically intact, it's not in 200 pieces or anything like that,” said Lt. Thomas Edelson with 15 Wing Moose Jaw.
At the time, the plane was finishing a routine flight in the area.
The two pilots were able to walk away from the damaged plane that made the landing around 3 p.m. They were picked up a short time later and taken to the 15 Wing hospital to be checked out.
“The medical officer would be the only person that could release their condition, but it's a very good indication that those pilots were able to get out of the plane under their own power and walk away,” Edelson said.
The names of those pilots are not being released. Edelson says the cause and extent of the damage will be released after a flight safety investigation.
Edelson says the damaged Tutor jet shouldn't effect the Snowbirds' upcoming season.
