Snowfall warning ends

Feb 17, 2011 | 9:57 AM

Shortly before 4 p.m. today Environment Canada lifted its snow fall warning for Prince Albert and La Ronge areas.

The warning which was issued Wednesday evening remains in affect for Melfort, Tisdale, Nipawin and Hudson Bay regions.

The weather agency says between 15 to 25 centimeters of snow has fallen over east central regions of the province since last evening.

Although the bulk of the snow has moved into Manitoba, strong winds are creating significant blowing snow across much of Southern Saskatchewan.

The city's snow removal crews have been busy.

Most of the priority one emergency streets are cleared.

The City’s Operations Manager Alain Trudel said they had an early start and additional crews were called out to help with the clean-up effort.

“We are asking residents to stay away from parking on priority on streets when possible and stay away from snow removal equipment,” he said.

Crews are expected to move into priority two streets by Friday.
