Man charged with manslaughter in reserve death

Corey Alexander Clarke, 23, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a man’s death on the Bells Point Reserve on Feb.5.

Early that morning, RCMP and paramedics attended to an unconscious man lying on a reserve road.

The victim, 40, was treated at the scene and taken to La Ronge hospital where he later died.

An autopsy on the body concluded the man did not die from natural causes and deemed the death to be suspicious.

Clarke will make his first court appearance Thursday, 9:30 a.m. in La Ronge Provincial Court.
