Norovirus detected at Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon

Jan 26, 2011 | 5:50 AM

Norovirus outbreaks in hospitals in Regina and Saskatoon are done. But a new outbreak is in effect at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon.

The first symptoms showed up in a patient on Monday and were confirmed as Norovirus on Tuesday.

Public Health officials and the Correctional Service of Canada are testing an undisclosed number of other cases at the moment.

With Norovirus now inside the psych centre, regularly scheduled visits are cancelled. Things will return to normal when it's safe to do so.
