Roughrider Gene Makowksy announces Sask Party candidacy

If the Riders make it to the Grey Cup next season,  they might not have Gene Makowsky with them as he will be a candidate for the Saskatchewan Party in the next election in Regina.

Makowsky, who is a substitute teacher as well as a Roughrider, announced Wednesday his intentions to run for office in Regina Dewdney constituency.

It is not clear whether Makowksy will retire from professional football or manage both jobs if he wins, like Regina city councillor Chris Szarka.
