A plea is expected in the new year from the woman accused of the hit-and-run death of a Prince Albert man.

Danielle Nadine Chamakese, 19 of Pelican Lake, appeared in court on Wednesday. She stands accused of having hit 21-year-old Daniel Carter on Sept. 19 and then leaving the scene. Carter eventually died of his injuries.

On Wednesday, Chamakese cried as she stood at the front of the courtroom while her lawyer spoke over the phone from Saskatoon.

He asked the judged to postpone making a plea until he and his client could review a toxicology report on Chamakese from the prosecution.
