Prince Albert Geneological Society – A Group Which Has Preserved Obituary Information for Historical Reference

Interest in Geneology … Family Trees … is an interest heldy many. Those who have pursued the winding trail of relatives long past – know that it can be frustrating, that there are many road blocks along the way.

That is why groups like the Prince Albert Geneological Society are so great. We not only are connected with the Provincial organization, but have a membership with expertise to guide you on your way.

We are meeting February 8th at the Lion's Club room under the Grandstand at the PA Ex at 7:30. At this meeting they will be going through issues of the Prince Albert Daily Herald and the Shopper, clipping obituaries and creating an index of each person found.

The index includes all the names of the deceased, date of birth, place of residence, what cemetery the deceased was buried in, which newspaper and what date. Currently, we have also added the panow.com obituaries as a source of information.

Members have access to this information and the other index data bases we have created – an invaluable resource for local people trying to find family ties.
