Spring Tune-Ups Are Not Just for Cars and Closets

I think it’s safe to say that spring has finally sprung.  The snow is almost totally gone and the heaviest coats have been pushed further back in the closet.

If you haven’t already, get those winter tires off and put the snow shovels away in the shed.

Just as we make seasonal adjustments to our closets, vehicles and yards, it’s time to do a seasonal tune up on your skin.

If you are spending more time outdoors than you did in the winter, you may need to wear a sunscreen.  Some suncare today can prevent sun damage, or worse, showing up years down the road.  If you don’t like the usual suspects you find at the big box store, investigate Dermatologist created formulas. They cost more but they feel and perform much better.

You may have been using a rich day time moisturizer on your face during the winter months because your skin felt so dry or looked flaky.  Continuing the use of that same heavy crème may start to block pores or create an oily appearance.  Adjust your moisturizer just as you adjust your coat.  It’s time for something lighter.
