Red Dawn

“Red Dawn” delivers non-stop action from start to finish. The original version is still better, but this movie comes pretty close. You will definitely go home feeling like you got your money’s worth.

The original “Red Dawn”, released in 1984, is about a fictional invasion of an American town by Soviet forces. It was pretty scary for the time with the Cold war underway. In the remake, the City of Spokane, Washington is invaded by North Korean forces. A group of local teenagers, band together and fight back to save their town.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. There are lots of great explosions and Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Avengers) does a great job in the lead role. My one criticism is that this movie was not long enough. The original movie was about two hours long. This re-packaged version is just over 90 minutes long, and at times feels rushed. It is still a good movie but I just think it could have been better if a little more attention was given to the story.
