Have you got your team in?
June 1 is the annual Cancer Relay for Life event and there is still plenty of time to get your team registered.
Maybe you’re wondering what Relay is? Relay is a 12 hour team walk that draws you and your friends together for a common goal, the fight against Cancer! Cancer never sleeps and nor will the hundreds of Relay participants in Prince Albert June 1 at Prime Ministers Park. Together we will Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back against cancer. Watch some video and see some of last year’s photos on our Face Book page.
Relay for Life is the single biggest fundraiser for Cancer. Together, we raised over $3 million at 26 Relay for Life events in Saskatchewan in 2011 – that's $3-million towards funding important life-saving research and providing information and support services for people living with cancer right here in Saskatchewan! Everyone knows someone who’s had cancer. Maybe it’s a co-worker, neighbor, friend or family member. The fight that those with cancer fight is a proud battle against a terrible disease but we are winning that fight thanks to people like you who relay for life.
You and your friends can become involved taking 12 hours away from your active lifestyle to join other likeminded friends in the best 12 hours of your life. Sure your feet might become sore walking laps; you’ll be tired from the lack of rest, not to mention all that coffee one might consume to stay awake. However the support we can lend, the friendships will fortify and memories we can make will last a life time. Cancer never sleeps so for 12 hours let us remember some who’s fighting the battle or remember someone who lost the battle in the name of winning the war, the war against cancer.
