“We are not a chain restaurant so when you come here our steak features will be different each time,” said Kayla Kapacila, chef and kitchen manager at Amy’s on Second. “And that is why people like to come here and experience our features because it is always a surprise to them. We are allowed that creative flow.”
Amy’s on Second offers either an 8oz Filet Mignon or the 8oz and 10oz New York Steak. At least once a week, customers can take advantage of the Chef’s steak feature. The steaks are fresh, never frozen, and all come from Canadian AAA grade beef that is aged a minimum of 28 days.
Every evening Kapacila creates and offers two special features that are unique and not on the regular menu. It can be steak, pasta, chicken, lamb or seafood. The possibilities are endless and it’s always delectable.
“Whatever our features are on any given night, I hope people come here and they enjoy their meal as much as I enjoy cooking it for them,” said Kapacila.
Amy’s on Second has been featured in Western Living, Canadian Living, the Lonely Planet, Fodor’s Canada and for 25 years in a row Where to Eat in Canada. The restaurant received a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 and in February of 2014 they were also featured on The Prairie Diner.
